1. Who We Are

BudgetTools (budgettemplates.shop) is operated by Juturu Preetam, a sole proprietorship based in India. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it refers to BudgetTools.

2. What Data We Collect

Free calculators (no account required)

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data when you use our free calculators. All calculations happen in your browser. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies on calculator pages.

Account registration

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Full name (if provided)
• Password (stored as a hash — we never see or store your plaintext password)
• Profile picture URL (if you sign in with Google)

Premium template usage

When you use a premium template, we store the data you enter (budget items, guest lists, inventory entries, etc.) in our database so it can sync across your devices. This data is linked to your account and protected by row-level security — no other user can see it.

Payment information

Payments are processed entirely by Cashfree. We never receive, see, or store your card number or payment details. Cashfree provides us with an order ID and payment status, which we store to manage your access.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain your account and Pro access
• To sync your template data across your devices
• To send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, payment receipts via Cashfree)
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send marketing emails.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. We use:

• localStorage — to cache your template data locally for fast loading. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
• sessionStorage — to manage the 5-minute demo trial timer. Cleared when you close the browser tab.
• Supabase auth tokens — stored in localStorage to keep you signed in between visits. These are JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) and expire automatically.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Your template data is protected by Supabase's row-level security policies, ensuring only you can access your own data. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Our serverless functions use a service-role key that is never exposed to the browser.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and template data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data from our database. Cashfree may retain payment records independently as required by financial regulations.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — view all your template data from within the app
• Correct your data — edit your templates at any time
• Delete your data — delete your account from the account page, or email us
• Check your access — view your Pro access status and expiry on your account page

9. Children's Privacy

BudgetTools is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of BudgetTools after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
